PRACTICAL ADVICE · TUGUN AIR SERVICES
The right system starts with your space.
One bedroom, several rooms or the whole home? Start with how you use the space, then let Matt confirm the capacity and installation details.
Split, multi-head or ducted?
| System | Consider it for | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Single split | A bedroom, living room, office or individual area. | Each system needs an outdoor location, suitable drainage and electrical supply. |
| Multi-head | Two to four rooms with limited space for outdoor units, depending on the selected model. | Outdoor capacity is shared; approved indoor combinations, pipe routes and operating modes need checking. |
| Ducted | Multiple rooms with discreet ceiling outlets and zoning. | Ceiling access, duct routes, return air, electrical supply and airflow through open zones. |
What helps Matt prepare your quote?
- Your suburb, the rooms you want to condition and approximate dimensions.
- Photos of proposed indoor and outdoor locations, taken safely from ground level.
- For a changeover: the existing model label, unit locations and any known problems.
- A floor plan for ducted or multi-head systems, if available.
- Your preferred timing, budget range and any agent or body corporate requirements.
Photos help start the conversation. A site visit may still be needed before the final scope and price can be confirmed.
Room size is a starting point
Windows, afternoon sun, insulation, ceiling height and open doorways all affect sizing. Use the catalogue’s room-area groups to browse; Matt confirms the system capacity for your property.
Before installation day
- Confirm the quoted indoor and outdoor positions and any separately quoted electrical work.
- Clear furniture and valuables from the work area and arrange access to the outdoor location.
- Let Matt know about parking, stairs, locked gates, ceiling access and pets.
- Keep the agreed work areas accessible and expect some drilling noise and an interruption to the relevant electrical supply.
Job duration depends on system type, access and scope. Matt confirms the expected timing when arranging your installation.
Apartments and strata properties
Tell Matt about body corporate requirements before booking. Outdoor appearance, balcony space, drainage, noise, shared access and working hours may need approval. Share any approved plans or building instructions so the installation can be quoted around them.
After installation
Keep your invoice, model details and warranty documents. Ask Matt about operating controls, filter access and a maintenance plan suited to the system and environment. Tugun Air Services provides a five-year warranty on installation workmanship and associated labour; manufacturer equipment cover is separate.
